Olive Arabia, The Norwegian University of science and Technology (NTNU) and The American University in Sharjah (AUS) have signed a collaboration agreement.  This agreement will provide access to innovative studies and distinguished researchers. It will support our business with research and development expertise to drive innovation into our service delivery.

In addition, the AUS would be a great place to find high-calibre candidates. With first-class laboratory space at the NTNU & AUS, high-tech IT and scientific research equipment, taking advantage of outstanding academia facilities.

Our recent involvement in modern workplaces in KSA demanded modern work. Hybrid habits, rising costs, digital initiatives are all redefining the role of the workplace.  This is why we’ve have upgraded our CAFM to IWMS. Whereby we deliver a truly seamless, end-to-end workplace service for our customers; creating and transforming offices and buildings that are fit for now and the future.

By combining our expertise in facilities management with the latest technology, and the collaborative work with both universities, our team will deliver smart workplaces using our unique approach of combining industry-leading innovation with data-driven insight to create the solutions you need – harnessing the power of automation, artificial intelligence and data, realising opportunities for efficiency, optimisation and growth for buildings.

Our recent involvement in Urban Facilities Management has provided a precursor for setting up a collaborative working group between Olive Arabia & NTNU.  The Group will work together to illustrate where facility management is having an impact on the urban environment and what other work needs to be done to facilitate the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The NTNU has been working with various local government authorities to highlight opportunities where the FM discipline can develop and research to illustrate where the discipline is going. The societal benefit is that Urban FM as an intermediator between citizens, public and private practices providing the platform of how they can work together for mutual benefit.

Our collaborative work will demonstrate how FM can fit in with a Smart and Sustainable City context by positioning communities as core for meeting SDGs.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is in the process of creating smart cities with the aim to improve the well-being of its inhabitants, businesses, visitors and organisations by providing digital services that contribute to a better quality of life.

Urban FM is expanding the discipline of FM by responding to communities’ and neighbourhood’s needs and facilitating their shared values. FM has always been present in urban areas in maintaining and operating the physical infrastructure of the environment, but urban FM creates new opportunities within the discipline to be an intermediator between public, private and people.
