The Project

The JODP, a major landmark in the Holy City of Makkah. It includes many towers in varying heights with elevation being gradually proportionate to the distance from the Grand Mosque outward.   The project includes an integrated collection of modern malls overlooking the Grand Mosque, together with a string of shops on both sides of King Abdul Aziz Road leading up to the grand market including restaurants, coffee shops, hypermarkets, as well as dedicated spaces for family entertainment.

All structures above grade are supported by 2.0km concrete tunnel for the infrastructure (service tunnels) under the main and secondary motorways across the entire project site. The tunnels are utilised to undertake all utility extensions, such as water and sewage pipelines, electricity, telephone and water-cooling pipelines, all of which are laid down within the tunnels.

The scope includes all components and properties of JODP-Infrastructure-Makkah, shopping malls, roads, bridges, tunnels, technical galleries, radial spines. It also extends to include JODC Offices, HQ Business Park – Jeddah Office, Saudi Arabia.

The service solution featured a range of delivery, contract and technological innovations.

JODC wished to see our facilities managers take hands-on role in the day-to-day running of the contract. In response we adopted a Unitary Management Model. This has empowered our people, allowing them to deliver services more quickly and efficiently to our client.

We deployed a large team of facility managers, engineers, supervisors, technicians and janitors.

Furthermore, we’ve also made a substantial investment in our bespoke Integrated Workspace Management system. The IWMS unlocks actionable insights through machine learning and data-driven analytics, helping to optimise resources, shape and improve building performance and enhance user experience

Our Management Model has resulted in greater focus on the tasks at hand, but also enhanced communication between our service managers and the client. The improvements are reflected in Olive Arabia’s service scores.
